Vasco 60 Memory Foam - Voted BEST ON TEST by Which? Magazine January 2006

Is your Memory Foam flame retardant?
Yes it is to British Standard, be warned not all memory foam is flame retardant to the UK Furniture and Furnishing (Fire Safety) Regulations Part 1 Schedule 1 1989. Some manufactures sell their Memory Foam as a medical appliance. You should check out this point as it can have consequences for your household insurance if you are not registered disabled. Ask for written conformation
When comparing my price to another check if your comparing like-for-like. Ask what density the foam is How thick is the memory foam? Some overlays appear to be really cheap but then you find out that they are only an inch thick.

What is so important about the “Density” of the foam?
The higher the “density” the better!  The retailer, if they know their stuff should be able to tell you what the density of memory foam there selling is. It’s never acceptable to just say its “high density” as that is just a subjective opinion. For example 60-density foam means that a block of foam 1cu metre will weigh 60kg. Some Memory foam is only 28 density. We sell 60 kg density, as it will have a long life span with a high resistance to fatigue, 28 density is packaging grade and won’t last very long.

I don’t understand how the Memory Foam remembers my shape?
This is a popular myth. Memory Foam does not remember your shape; it remembers its own shape. In layman’s terms Memory Foam unlike regular foam has no real bounce to it. Without the molecular memory it would not bounce back to its original shape. Everyone calls it “Memory Foam” Its correct name is “Visco Elastic Foam”

How does it work?
Memory foam has a unique property. Its temperature sensitive! When the Foam gets warm from contact with your body, the cells become highly elastic and stretch. Because this occurs in the area of contact, you create a mould of yourself. Your body becomes fully supported by the foam. This in turn, all but eliminates pressure points. This aids restful sleep.

Is it true that NASA developed it?
Yes its true! To help prevent discomfort for the shuttle astronauts on re-entry. When they get home, they all have a fry up in their TEFLON frying pans developed by NASA for the Apollo Missions

What’s Better Overlay Or Mattress and do they need to be in a cover?
Overlays are less expensive. You only need to replace you mattress if it’s on its last legs. As for a cover, all you need it a Mattress Protector available in most bedding store for under £10

I tried a TemperMedic Memory Foam mattress in a store I though it was a bit hard
Memory foam will approximately halve its firmness between room temperature and body temperature. When the foam has moulded itself to your shape, the notion of hard and soft become irrelevant as you feel weightless, because you are so completely supported.

Do I need to spend £100’s to get a good quality Memory Foam Mattress or Overlay?
The market leader for Memory foam in this country is without a doubt is TemperMedic, fantastic quality but expensive. You can find what we call “Essence Of Memory Foam Mattresses” These are well known brands that have replaced the normal top layer of foam or fibre with a thin layer of Memory Foam above the springs. These are not memory Foam mattresses in the true sense of the word. They come in all sorts of prices.

Why should I buy from you and not a well known established Brand?
As a foam converter we feel we can accommodate your special requirements We feel confident in saying that our Memory foam is comparable in quality to temper in some cases superior.  Just as resilient to wear but at a fraction of the cost. We believe that a mattress and overlays from Memoryfoam4u are great value for money!

Will I over heat sleeping on a foam mattress?

No! we only use breathable open cell foam . Memory foam absorbs body heat to allow the cells to become fully activated more so over a few weeks usage.

How long will it last!
We give a 5-year warranty to give you peace of mind
